This was one of my first big projects that I completed back in 2018, when I first started really getting into art. It was drawn with pencil and then outlined with black alcohol, fine point pens (pigma microns) and then I colored in the entire piece with copic markers. This is a "doodle." It's just a collection of a bunch of characters I create all "jam packed" into one giant character!
This one was my most recent one, completed back 3 years ago right before I quit art. As you can see my use of color and line weight has improved significantly since 2018. I drew it in pencil and then I used pigma micron pens to outline it. Then I used copic markers to color it and white out pen to create the effect seen above (which I love doing to create motion or excitement to the work). Honestly, I do exactly know what to call this character, it's just awesome.
This is my second big project that took around 3 weeks to complete, mainly because I originally drew this one white paper, and I wanted it to have a black background, so I cut every detail with an xacto knife to transfer it (that took a while...). This made with pigma micron pens, copic markers and white out pen. This won the 2022 Visual Scholastic Art Event, receiving the "Gold Seal Award," which is the highest honor in the VASE competition. I completed this in 2019, but my art teacher asked me if I had anything to submit, so I submitted this back in 2022.
This one was done with the same formula as the others: micron pens and copic markers. I really wanted to do something apocalyptic, just because I really like dark, cruel or sinister type stuff. Plus, it is just sick. This was completed back in 2019 and it's a man in a hazmat suit cleaning up the trash after a nuclear blast. Just really liked the concept.
This is a character I created, and it's inspired from one of the characters from Megamind. I drew this with the exact same formula: micron pens and copic markers. This is a fish that has been infused with a human/machine. You can see the nerves connecting to the fish. I completed this back in 2019.
As you can see, I really love comics (especially Batman). This was completed around 2021 and it's drawn with micron pens, sharpie markers and a Japanese ink brush pen.
As you can see, I also love playing video games (especially Fortnite). So, I drew something inspired by the game. This was drawn with copic markers and micron pens. I did this back in 2021.
This was just a doodle I did. But, it ended up being pretty cool. It was drawn with copic markers and micron pens. As you can see, I liked to get a little bit gory, because why not? It's cool to me. This was completed back in 2021.
This was something I created back in 2021. I've always thought the old fashioned dive tanks from the 1900s were very cool, so growing up in galveston, I decided to make something with it. At this point, my use of color is spot on. The gradients and the shading is almost perfect in this one (to me). It was done with micron pens and copic markers.
This was the first digital project I've ever completed. It was done on procreate. It could be better, but it has a special place in my heart because it's the first comic cover I've ever created. I used perspective, single vantage point drawing to create the buildings. This was also completed back in 2021.
